We are honoured to be appointed by Fair Havens for Life to manage the sale of their Chalkwell Avenue site, with proceeds going towards the development of a new, larger purpose-built adult hospice in Prittlewell.

background

Standing to serve Fair Havens Hospices and its patients for more than 30 years, this site has been a strong support for the local community, preserving itself as a beloved build that has touched the hearts of many.

The current facility opened in 1983 and is comprised of residential houses with two joined together into one larger build and the other being detached. Various adaptations have been made over the years, but it is no longer fit for purpose as they look to expand the room and services for their patients. Fair Havens Hospices are therefore seeking to sell their existing buildings in Chalkwell, ready to move to a new site in Prittlewell, which is due to open in 2020.

Ward Sister at Fair Havens Hospices Louise McKay said:

“Although we will be sad to leave the current building, the time has come where we need a purpose-built facility in order to comply with the regulations of modern hospice care. “It has served us incredibly well over the past 36 years, caring for thousands of patients and many memories have been experienced here by the families, Care Team and volunteers. We will be sure to mark the transition between the buildings in a fitting way.”

a unique development opportunity

Ayers & Cruiks are delighted to introduce to the market this exceptional development site in Westcliff on Sea. Currently used as a facility for Havens Hospices. Spacious and attractive, this serves fantastic potential as both a comprehensive redevelopment for residential use or could be re-established as three spectacular homes, or even conversion into apartments.

From the visually striking exterior to the beautiful balcony views, this build has a strong statute that is distinctive in both character and size. There is also considerable space available for parking.

Situated on Chalkwell Avenue and Second Avenue, the property is a prominent feature in the area. The site is located just a few hundred yards from the splendid Chalkwell Esplanade, and within walking distance from Chalkwell railway station, making it perfectly positioned for both coastal and city life.
